please advise me how to use texture mapper perspective and planar. do we need to add projectors to use this feature in shape. cause in the shape output manager, not being able to patch from texture mapper to the hippotizer connected.
Ok, Texture mappers can be used technically and creatively. First ill explain perspective.
If your model is not UV'ed or you want to achieve a 3D effect using other objects in your CAD program perspective texture mapping is your friend. In your CAD program, have your model and a camera. Make your model effects and render using the camera.
In Shape Add a Perspective Texture Mapper and put it in the same position with the same lens attributes as the camera was in the CAD program. Now you can 'project' the video back onto the model using the perspective texture mapper. You can now add a projector in shape and align it as normal.
Alternatively you can use perspective texture mappers creatively to achieve different effects for example faux lighting effects from places a real light cannot be placed.
Planar texture mappers work exactly the same except they project parallel through the 3d space. CAD programs also call planar parallel.
Hope that helps Kumar! Let me know if you have any more questions. Lanz
Whatever you projector can 'see' will appear on your output. A texture mapper is used to 'virtually project' an image into the the 3D world.
in 1) your projector is looking at the cube so you can see it on the output. in 2) your texture mapper is putting content onto the cube but you projector is looking at nothing so you see nothing. in 3) your projector is looking at the cube and it can also see what the texture mapper in putting on the cube. in 4) it is the same as 3 except you have the same content in the input manager applied to the box and the texture mapper.
If you put the box to no texture then you will only see what the texture mapper is putting on the box.
If you explain what you are trying to achieve with this i can help you achieve your goal.
