Hi, We need to be able to save within the zookeeper itself. A save button, instead of saving while closing the zookeeper. The zookeeper still shuts down or freezes while programming and then you have to start over. This should be one of the first thing you make when you build a machine and is vital for our everyday use.
We would also like to be able to save our layouts in the zookeeper. If you could save the layout you work with it would be much easier to work with our customers machines.
These two things should be a high priority for your programming or fixing the V4, because these two things are two of the things that is making us want to try the D3 instead.
Hi again, I just want a simple save button, so I can save my programmed presets or the work I have done, whenever I want. Right now you need to shut the whole zookeeper down to safe. Feels a bit a bit unsafe :-)
There are actually three different ways Hippotizer saves values:
The whole zookeeper is saved each time you navigate between pages, not when you shut down. This saves all your layouts and pinboards. The idea behind not constantly saving is to give you the option to 'back off' a mistake easily, or if you were to make a layout that causes a crash it would not be saved.
Presets are totally different; they are saved to a database each time you make a change. All other components are the same; they save each change instantly.
Pin values (which media is selected on each layer, layer levels, etc.) are saved by the engine on completion of a successful shutdown. Again, this is a simple safety measure to ensure that a fatal combination of pin values is not saved.
With all these different methods going on in the background, it wouldnt make sense to have a global 'save' button. That is why we opted for saving automatically whenever you navigate between pages.
