Timeline is not imported correctly if new system has identical hostname to system timeline was exported from. Posted by Sumesh Varambhia on 01 September 2014 12:12 PM
This article applies to Hippotizer V3
Summary: After importing timelines from another Hippotizer timelines fail to playback correctly. Also the label where normally you would see the host name, there are numbers/letters.
Cause: This error occurs because the host name of the system the timeline was exported from is the same as the one the timeline was imported into. As the hostnames are the same, the import process fails to detect the systems are different and still tries to reference the original system pins.
Resolution: To workaround this issue, change the host name of the system then re-import the timelines. If you are not sure how to do this, work through the following steps;
1. With the Hippotizer and ZooKeeper running. Browse to the HippoNet window. Click More..., and select Host Settings... 2. Click on the Remote Management tab. You should be presented with Change Host Name... button. 3. Click Change Host Name... and change the host name to something else, click OK then exit from the more settings window. 4. You will need to restart the Hippotizer for the changes to take effect. 5. Once the Hippotizer has been restarted, import the timelines. Applies to software Version All V3 up to 3.2.1
