HDMI Capture Using Black Magic Capture Cards Posted by Ryan Brown on 20 January 2014 03:32 PM
How to: Set Up HDMI Capture on a Black Magic Design Capture Card.
Hippotizer Supports several Black Magic Design Capture Cards, some of these cards such as the Decklink Studio 2 include an HDMI input. Some customers have experienced difficulty setting up HDMI input, which appears to be down to one of several causes:
-Ensure that the Black Magic drivers are installed on your machine. These can be found in the Thirdparty folder within the C:\HippotizerV3 folder. -The HDMI input is NOT compatible with HDCP protected sources. HDCP creates hardware based encryption for HD video signal from certain sources. Some cameras, Blu-Ray players and other HD sources use HDCP by default. Please ensure that the video source you are trying to capture does not have HDCP enabled. -The HDMI source should be turned on and fully connected before turning on the Hippotizer. -Ensure that the resolution and refresh rate set in the Engine Settings -> Capture card settings in Hippotizer exactly match those of the source.
Once the resolution settings are set, the captured image should be visible in Hippotizer. If it is not, restart your Hippotizer system and try again.
