Preset Select over DMX in 3.2.1 Posted by Ryan Brown on 14 January 2014 03:23 PM
Information: In Hippotizer version 3.2.1 the ability to recall presets to layers or the master from DMX has been added. This means that presets recorded from Zookeeper can be played directly from a lighting desk. Preset control can be configured as a single DMX channel or as part of the layer personality. Please bear in mind that after a preset has been applied, the values from that preset will be different than the values being received by DMX. It is for this reason that the entire layer personality must be set to "Update Only". That is so that all layer controls will respond on a last takes precedence (LTP) basis. The included layer personality with preset select are set to update only already. If other combinations of layer personalities are to be mixed with preset select (Such as the 3.2 or 3.1 SP1 personality), please ensure that the personalities are set to update only as well.
The easiest way to do this is to go into the personality editor within the DMX component and duplicate the personality that needs to be modified. Rename the duplicate, and then set all attributes to update only. Be sure to save the changes before closing the personality editor.
