Presets and Timelines Compatibility with version 3.2 Posted by Ryan Brown on 10 March 2014 02:54 PM Presets and Timelines are not backwards compatible from 3.2
Information: Hippotizer version 3.2 features a completely re-designed preset manager. This includes a new interface, which allows you to call presets up quickly and directly to a layer, engine, or entire network of hippos. The new preset manager also replaces the presets previously in the timeline window. So, you can now save a preset into the preset manager directly, or in the timeline window and the two interfaces will sync automatically. A new filtering system has also been introduced to make it quick and easy to only store the attributes you want.
This change in functionality however, will mean that you cannot load previous versions' timeline or presets into version 3.2.
When you import a timeline component with presets from earlier versions than 3.2 into 3.2, it should load both the timelines and the presets as normal. The presets however will move to the preset manager and the timelines will not contain them anymore physically but just as a reference. If now you export the timelines again (in v3.2) they won't contain the presets. If you import timelines that reference presets that don't exist in the preset manager then timelines will delete those references.
So generally if you want to move timelines and presets from one hippo to another you should export/import both components (Timeline + PresetManager)
