The difference between Pause and Stop in a timeline Posted by Ryan Brown on 14 January 2014 05:33 PM
Information: In the Timeline component, you have the ability to Rewind, Play and Stop each timeline.
When you press stop on a timeline, the play-head no longer moves. You can now drag the play-head around in the timeline, and it will not execute any events that it passes.
If however, you want to drag the play head to a new location in the timeline and have it execute the commands it passes, then Pause is more appropriate. A timeline can be Paused by clicking the play button while it is playing. This will also stop the Play-head from moving, but now when you drag it to a new location it will play any events that it passes. The Timeline will also play the last state for each track when the play-head is dropped into any point along the Timeline. Pressing play again will resume playback from the new play-head location.
