I need to export my media manager for a client. I've done this before with no issues. Today, neither of our Boreal's will export the Media Manager (they are synced). They both give me an error message "Failed to start exporting settings on 'MediaManager'".
The MediaManager Component is about 248Gigs. The drive has PLENTY of space available. And, it's formatted NTFS. It was originally used with V3 Hippos and has some files from those projects still on it. (They want those files as well.)
I actually finally got the component to export to the D drive of the machine, and I could move it to the drive from there. Still, I had never had an issue exporting directly to a drive until now, and I would prefer to NOT have to clutter up the media drive.
this is weird. We usually get this error message when the drive of the destination folder doesn't have enough space for the MediaManager export. Are there more than 1 Strata/media folders on your D: drive ? Which options do you enable when exporting MediaManager ?
Since the export worked on D: drive there might have been a problem with the way the external drive was connected. Sending large media folders over the internet is NOT something that we would recommend as it may lead to corrupted files but if it's necessary you can: 1. Let's say your media folder is D:\JoelMediaV4. Remove the temp folder and the metadata.stt from your media folder. 2. Zip the folder, send it, download it, unzip it where you want your media folder to be (i.e. D:JoelMedia) 3. Run the engine and ZK, navigate to Media page->Settings->Strata->Add folder and type in D:JoelMedia->OK->Apply
