I am playing media with audio from the hippo V3 through a grandma 2 console. I am marking media in a previous cue. The fade time is 0. When I play the media, the audio plays correctly but the media doesn't catch up for 5 to 20 seconds. It fast forwards itself until it syncs. The files are .mov. I've converted the files successfully to .mp4 and .mpg but they will not upload into the hippo.
Can anyone explain how I can properly sync the media in my cues?
We had a known issue where in V3 the audio could drift out (usually by less than 1%, or 1 second in 100) in video clips containing audio. This was most easily fixed by separating the audio from the video on to different layers and slightly adjusting the speed of one track to match. (Usually video as this was less noticeable).
However, what you describe does not sound like drift. It sounds more like an encoding issue.
Is the behavior always the same each time you try it?
Hi we are a venue who run two V3 Stage machines. We have an issue with the audio of some media files being slightly out. It’s only if the clip has someone talking to camera you notice the lip sync is slightly off. I re-encode everything myself to mpeg, but can you confirm the sample rate I should be using and do you have any other tips to solving this issue?
