The engine and zookeeper communicate with each other over the network.
Hippotizer Machines have two network cards by default and the engine and zookeeper must use the same network card as each other.
If they are on the wrong network, it is possible to have one of several problem:
Zookeeper can not see any engines
Zookeeper can only see the local engine and not any network engines
Zookeeper can only see network systems and not the local engine.
In all of these cases the solution is to change the default network adapter in the engine and zookeeper.
There are two locations for these settings:
In the Zookeeper settings select the correct default adapter:
In the Engine the settings are under the Network tab:
By Default, the adapter called "HippoNet" will be used.
The Loopback adapter will ensure the engine and zookeeper can talk to each other, but not be seen by any other networked systems. Use this on standalone systems where it is undesirable for HippoNet traffic to be transmitted onto the local network.
